Graduation Day

... other team. With older kids and their own resident Sheldon they pretty much wiped the floor with us, but at least the Aussies got some laughs. Then we finally had a chance to launch our rockets - mine was rocket 13, titled Aussie 1, and unlike the Apollo it was not a successful failure. The rocket went really high but the parachute was stuffed too far into the rocket & was toasted on liftoff. So my poor crew ...

... same mission as yesterday but we switch jobs. This time the whole family were doing science experiments at the International Space Station - ok but not quite as fun as our previous jobs. We then had a play in the MMU - manned maneuvering units, lots of fun - especially sideways. Watched the Hubble Movie on the Dome IMAX & then back for our actual mission. We got to do some science experiments - well I did. Jase was answering all sorts of questions about Australia & ...

The big kids & little kids looked exhausted so it was showers & bedtime by 9:30pm - us astronauts are mega party ...

... the extra suitcase! On our school trips over Walshy & I have said it before & I'll say it again - Walmart is overrated. We maybe saved $20, but the pain! Anyone who has seen the 'people of Walmart' sight know what we went through. I took the boys to the 'Outback Steakhouse' for some comfort. It's a faux Aussie restaurant with Americanised Aussie food. Although the Southern cross is a bit wrong on the flag& the only Australian ...

We got up late after a fitful sleep! Headed off to the Nasa Space Center. Amazing history of space travel and lots of fun things for the kids. A real live space shuttle on site, gives perspective on its immense size and the how astronauts can make there way to space. Precision is a must! What a great day! Off to bed as we pack for a vacation on our vacation...Gatlinburg, Tennessee (borders the Great Smoky Mountains National Park), here we ...
