Got stuck overnight in Houston due to United changing plane arrangements. They put us up in this motel about 3 miles from the airport and surrounded by NOTHING, no grocery stores, no bars, barely a gas station convience store. The food was terrible, I suggest you save your vouchers for the airport restaurants.

Third stop on the tour was a look at a rocket that was built for the Apollo programme but never got launched due to funding being pulled. It was interesting to hear the retired rocket scientist talk about the three stages of the rocket and what powers each of them. The rocket is ...

Sam had crab cakes and I had chicken schnitzel, and we shared a homemade key lime pie for dessert. The food was really yummy and there were lots of locals both eating in and taking out so it was a good ...

We had some fun with poetry courtesy of Michael Salinger and Sara Holbrook. They are so talented! We loved how they got the audience up and participating. We plan to use this strategy to get our students more involved with poetry!

We will miss our new Texas friends but we ...

Before we knew it, it was time to have a quick lunch and head off to the afternoon studies. The Texans have a pretty full on routine for study weekends - study at 2pm, break at 3 for 15 mins, then second study at 3.15 to break at 4 for 15 mins, then regroup at 4.30 until 5.30 when we had the evening meal together. Following that was the public lecture and then home.
The studies were on Abraham and his relationships with Lot, ...
