... and La doesn't have alot of national parks either) - - I went to Cane River Creole Historical Park, which had me riding through some of the Bayou country. This is actually comprised of 2 old plantations - with slave quarters, etc - nice set up... a neat thing here is that is was an unmanned site - no rangers on duty.. I guess they come by in the morning to open & evening to close & probably just patrol around - - it was just me and a retired couple ...

Going over a magnificent bridge over Mobile Bay you swing into Alabama and one of your first sites is the USS Alabama moored up with it's guns pointing at Florida! Stopped for photo op and then heading on got a little lost exiting Mobile but eventually found the right road - north! ... it is not in the normal RV park guides, there are only a few other people here, which is nice, too. John walked to one of the nearby restaurants and got some food to supplement our dinner of leftovers. The restaurant is called Huddle House and seems to be a chain that specializes in breakfast, so we plan to have breakfast there tomorrow. We enjoy trying out the restaurant chains in the South that we do not have at home.
