Park and Fly is awesome
I would highly recommend this hotel for travelers, especially if you are flying out of FLL. They have the best deal on parking in the world - 15 bucks for as long as you need, and they take you to the airport and pick you up when you get back. Just call when you land, and they are there in 10 minutes!
The hotel is very nice, good breakfast, very clean, nice rooms, nice bathrooms. I felt like I was in Hilton or Embassy Suites, rather than just a regular Hampton Inn. Free internet computer usage in the lobby, breakfast "to go" bags if you are in a hurry.
Instead of driving late at night to the Keys, we stayed here overnight and took the shuttle back to the airport to pick up our car the next morning.
Prompt and free pick-up and delivery to the airport and even a free round-trip to the local favorite Rustic Inn Restaurant.
The breakfast bar was even better than the Hampton Inn standard, as was the rest of the property. No regrets, only recommendations.
I stayed here the night before and the night after my cruise. I highly recommend this hotel, if for nothing else, the free shuttle service. My flight had been delayed for arrival due to a storm so it was very late when I arrived. The guy driving the shuttle was so personalbe and friendly. He even went thru a McDonalds drive-thru so I could get a bite to eat.
Upon my return, another driver was also very personable and friendly. He offered to take us to town in the shuttle after noon since he wouldn't have many runs until later.
Front desk staff was also very friendly. There is a very nice pool and I felt very safe. My only complaint was the selection for the complimentary continental breakfast. I've been to other hotels that have had a bigger selection. On the other hand - I had to leave for the airport before the breakfast opened and they handed me a to-go bag that contained a muffin, breakfast bar, apple and water.
I will definately stay here again should I be in the Ft Lauderdale area.
Excellent Service at a Good Hotel
My family and I stayed at this hotel on April 7, 2005 for one night prior to departing on a cruise. This seems to be a popular choice because the hotel was full of people doing exactly what we were.
When we arrived at the airport we used the courtesy phone to call the shuttle and were told that a large group had called prior to us and that there would be approximately a half-hour wait until there would be room in one of the shuttle vans for us. We decided to wait rather than take a taxi as we didn't have any other plans.
We watched as the shuttle made several round trips picking up the large group that was ahead of us and dropping them at the hotel before returning for more. As we approached the half-hour timeframe promised by the hotel the shuttle pulled for the last of the large group, but this time he had arranged to have a van from another of the Hampton Inns in the area help him to take us to the hotel. Despite the fact that the driver had been working frantically he was helpful and very friendly and took care of all of our luggage (which is a considerable amount for a group of eight people taking a cruise). He even suggested restaurants for that evening and said that, if we wished, he would give us a ride later on when things slowed down.
When we arrived at the hotel they had our rooms prepared and the person at the front desk even remembered me from when I had called earlier in the week to confirm our reservations. All of the requests (such as cribs) had been fulfilled.
The rooms were clean and comfortable and probably larger and more luxurious than any other Hampton Inn that I have stayed in. I have stayed in luxury hotels where the rooms were no nicer that these were. It is not a luxury neighborhood (it is near the airport, after all), but you would never know if from inside the hotel.
One of our rooms had an issue with a toilet that didn't work well, but as the maintenance man had gone home for the evening, the front desk tried their best to fix the problem. They were exceptionally friendly despite the fact that a front desk employee was trying to do maintenance work without all of the necessary training and tools.
When we checked out of the hotel the next day they did not charge me for the room with the problem and apologized again for the inconvenience.
I can not imagine any way that the staff could have been more friendly or helpful. The rooms were very nice, but were overshadowed by the excellent staff. I would not even consider staying anyplace else next time I cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale.
No Customer Service Skills!
We chose this hotel based on reviews here and proximity to the Port where we were leaving on a 7-day cruise the next day. We booked online directly on ----- a full 7 months in advance. When we arrived at the hotel on 2/12 they had NO rooms available even though they had our reservation. They offered us a conference room where they had rolled in a pull out couch. Totally unacceptable of course. They couldn't find another room in other Hampton Inns, everyone was booked. Finally found us a room at the Marriott ($80 more expensive) and refused to pay for it. We had no choice but to pay for it ourselves. The desk boy and manager were rude and unsympathetic. The check in people at the Marriott were awesome and couldn't believe the Hampton Inn wouldn't pay. Now dealing with Hilton Corporate who promised I'd get reimbursed.
Come on, 7 months in advance and they give away your room?
Good for the area..............
I will give this a 4 rating as that is what I think this hotel is for the area we were in. It appears perhaps many of the hotels at the port and airport area cater to the folks that are there for one night before or after their cruise. The only thing negative I can say about the Hampton Inn Airport North is the carpeting looked like it needed a real good scrubbing. Everything else was perfectly clean. The breakfast was more than adequate. The pool area was clean. The shuttles were very convenient, quick and accommodating. The shuttle driver even took us to dinner and picked us up as he didn't have any airport runs to do!!! I would stay here again for a one-nighter.
We stayed here one night pre-cruise. For the price this is one of the best pre-trip hotels we stayed in. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, shuttle service was good. They have a nice breakfast. The hotel is across from a little strip mall that has a couple places to eat as well as a laundrymat. Staff was very helpful. We needed a transfer to Maimi. The desk clerk arranged it for us. Definately would stay here again.
Great Pre-Cruise Stay
Stayed here for 1 night prior to our cruise. We were picked up at the airport with very little delay. The driver then suggested a place for us to eat and took us there after we checked in. We didn't even have to call him for a ride back since he came to check on us later! The next day we were provided with prompt, free transportation to the port.
The hotel appeared very new and was extremely clean! It was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was very good as well. As long as they still have the free transportation from the airport and to the port, we will stay here again!
Great room and service!
We (my husband and I) planned on staying at this hotel only one night (9/24/04) due to our cruise ship leaving on 9/25/04. Well, hurricane Jeanne decided that we were going to stay longer and our cruise was delayed until Monday. This hotel went to great lengths to extend our reservation through to Monday. The service was excellent! The room was quite large and roomy. We loved the bed and the over abundance of pillows! They offered free shuttle service to/from the airport and to/from the cruise port! We also stayed post cruise and were very pleased that they remembered us! The continental breakfast was excellent. All the employees were very nice and went to great lengths to make sure we had an enjoyable stay! Great hotel!! :-)
We recently stayed one night here prior to our cruise. What an excellent choice! Our "Stay, Park and Go" rate included a wonderful King room (appeared to be brand new) with microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker, a super breakfast in the morning, parking our car for the 10 days of the cruise, and shuttle both to and from the cruise port.
All of this was included. What more can you ask for? We had looked into leaving our car at the cruise terminal but the cost was going to be $120. For about $20 more we had all of the above. We appreciated that you booked your shuttle time when you registered and it was specific for our ship. The shuttle was on time and only took about 15 minutes over and that included dropping two people at the airport. On our return we called the hotel and the shuttle was there in about 15 minutes.. easy to see with the pink flamingos on the rooftop. As we left we noted that many people were still standing in long lines for taxis. The service in this hotel was exceptional! We would highly recommend it!
