We first will attend the LTV Rally held once a year in Winkler, Manitoba at the factory. ... br> We joined the main road mid way through 'The Dragon', and then went into 'Hellbender', as this twisty section of the US 28 is known to motorcycle enthusiasts. The road runs alongside Fontana Lake and there are great views - but nowhere to stop of course.

We turned off to visit Fontana Dam. The dam is 480 feet high and stretches 2,385 feet across the Little Tennessee River.

After about an hour and a half, having travelled 15 miles, the road became two-way, though there didn't seem any difference in the width or condition of the road, and it was another few miles before we returned to tarmac.
