      ... planned to do the same on Saturday morning but the wind shifted and increased so we decided to walk instead. We have been walking pretty reguarly 4-5 miles per day and this one was about 5.5 miles. The rain began shortly after our return and has not let up except for a few minutes here and there. Saturday I went out to refill water, and see another movie then got back early.

      After a grueling five days of driving, it was time to find a nice campground and hang out for a few days. My plan was to stay at the state park on the beach near Destin. But the polar vortex spoiled things, so I found an RV park near Pensacola instead. The temperatures were in the 30's at night, and although it was only in the 50's during the day, at least it was sunny!       ... We then drove back near the campground and had lunch at the Crab Trap. The views off their patio of the Gulf were fantastic! And the food was pretty good to. We both had their signature crab cakes – long on crab meat and short on filler, lightly battered and pan fried.

      ... Rd and most of his family lives on the road. COOL! we talk for a good while with them. Greg told us a lot about showing red angus cows. When you take cows to show you give them a fro so that they look bigger than they actually are. For this effect you bath the cows often for five weeks and blow dry their hair so it stands on end. Their daughter Caitlin won a $10,000 scholarship to college from one of their competitions.

      ... the dog would pull out his ears sometime when they got in his way of dancing. It was an excellent time and we stayed out much later than we anticipated!

      On Halloween, T and Gav showed us around the French Quarter where we devoured some beignets from Café Dumond, got some croissants at a friend's bakery and as if we hadn't had enough fried and buttery dough, we also ate a couple-day old doughnuts that were hanging out in the shop.
