    We crossed back over the Missouri River in South Dakota, and made it into Minnesota. Plains, farms, wind turbines, cows...

    We stopped a little bit earlier than expected, but found a hotel right off the highway just as the kids really needed a break or sleep, and went for a great late night hot tub and swim. We'll drive extra tomorrow.

    We woke up and guess what we did, we drove west… traveled out of Illinois and drove through Iowa north to Minnesota today. There is so much farm land out here in the west.     ... cool to see as well. Their blade spans are huge we passed a truck with a single blade on it...it was enormous! As we made our way into Minnesota the corn fields continued. We produce a lot of corn in the US. I was personally surprised! We stopped at the Minnestoa Visitors Center. There we met a nice woman who shared some information about Minnesota. She told us that since we were traveling on I-90 we should stop in Blue Earth to see ...

    ... br> Everyone takes time out to say hello to you here. At first, I found it quite disturbing, coming from an English town where everyone keeps to themselves, but I have become quite accustomed to this very open display of affection here.

    After ice cream we went outside to paint some of the wooden windows and shutters on our little house but we soon found the sun too strong and retreated to the shade and air conditioning of the house for the rest of the night.
