Well we're about 3 days behind schedule already but we're finally hitting the road. The weather is gloomy for our departure, slight rain, signifying our sadness for leaving behind such good friends and memories. We had originally planned to head out to Glacier National Park first, but wildfires and not being able to leave until now, has forced ...

Got to Ellensburg on Friday, essentially for Heather's graduation. Set up our AXIS at Umtanum where we used to camp in our first RV, the BigFoot trailer. Such great memories of camping along the river, enjoying campfire, oh, and drinking a little. It's gotten all organized now under the Bureau of Land Management, so now you need a permit if you breathe too deeply, pick you nose or stare into the distance. But the canyon is such an amazing amenity ...

So, I'm backing up a little, since I've been slacking off from writing the blog. Too much going on.

We left Soap Lake, and went to Sunrise Falls, in the middle of absolutely nowhere (which seems to be a constant theme of this blog). We thought it would be a small trickle of water, but WOW, amazing flow. The pictures here are normal flow, but they sound a ...

... Valley where my dad and his wife, Lois, live. We drove through a wind farm at the top of the ridge, and as we passed to the west side of the ridge, we saw Mt. Rainier before us in all it's glory. As we drove further through the valley, we saw Mt. Adams and Mt. Stewart as well, all mountains in the Cascade chain.

We have had a pleasant afternoon and evening with my dad ...

We headed out again. As we want to avoid the I 5 congestion from Olympia through Seattle we headed east toward Yakima then back toward Ellensburg. We are at a RV Resort (???) behind a Days Inn, next to I 90, a truck stop, and of course the required trains. We plan an early start and go only to Mount Vernon. We decided not to cross the bridge on Saturday PM We will stop and get gas and propane at the reservation Sunday AM and be home midmorning.
