    ... trusty Choice guide. Checked the web site carefully re services but did not quite appreciate just how far it was from the train station. The hotel has a shuttle to the station on the hour from 7 - 11 am and then again in the evening. Hope they pick people up as well. Otherwise it will be a long walk for us. Predicted rain for Friday so tomorrow will be out to see the sites of Washington and Friday in the museums.

    ... have been less than helpful or friendly on several occasions. There is a huge police presence, all armed to the hilt. As we haven't been here before we can't make comparisons but perhaps 9/11 looms large.     Uggh finally! I get a chance to get out of this city. Fun is fun, but this is ridiculous. With half of the city shut down due to the Government and the other half trying to figure out if, or when, they might shut down I figure this would be a good time to pack my bags and get the hell out of this place before things get too weird for even me.
