... around the grounds. Once we got inside the historic site, we realized they had a museum built around the log cabin he was born in. It was really nicely done and we learned a bunch of history about his life and family. The town he grew up in, and the inspiration for his books, was Hannibal, MO - just down the road a few miles. Did you know Mark Twain's real name was Samuel Clemens? We biked back to camp and got back on the road ...

We are mainly driving on coy. We like the back roads.

We now arrived at the Bridges of Madison County. The town is Winterset but no sign of Clint or Meryl. We did see the bridges and the ironing board that Meryl used and Linton sat on the stool where Clint sat in the Northside Cafe, both in character and out - we were told. A really nice ...

... of a long-time friend of my dad: Mr. Billy Williams. Once again food greeted us as they prepared a big buffet of BBQ - and the food was great!
Their house was big and beautiful with three stories so everyone had a bed. Aria had fun on billiards table after some lessons from Billy. After dinner my parents and Shaunette headed out to a late evening at a local casino. After a big meal and a long drive the kids weren't ...
