We had intended to take a slow coastal route but opted for the quicker inland route. Heading WESTWARD on Highway 10 then back to the coast to Miramar Beach near Destin. We are definitely on our way home!! Now on Central Time only 2 more time zone changes to the West.

After a grueling five days of driving, it was time to find a nice campground and hang out for a few days. My plan was to stay at the state park on the beach near Destin. But the polar vortex spoiled things, so I found an RV park near Pensacola instead. The temperatures were in the 30's at night, and although it was only in the 50's during the day, at least it was sunny! I enjoyed a walk on the beautiful beach and a couple fantastic sunsets over the ...
... We then drove back near the campground and had lunch at the Crab Trap. The views off their patio of the Gulf were fantastic! And the food was pretty good to. We both had their signature crab cakes – long on crab meat and short on filler, lightly battered and pan fried.

After they rode us out to the hwy on their tandum bike. Tricia called it the conseling bike. When they were having a rough patch in their marriage they bought it so they would have to talk to each other. That's figuring love out if you ask me.
