We have finally arrived in Little Rock, AR. Route 40 west going into Little Rock was a nightmare but we are one of the lucky ones. We passed at least ten vehicles on the side of the road with flashers on, because of flat tires. The roads are horrendous here. We feel like astronauts trying to circumnavigate the moon. ... Unfortunately, we had middle seats and were unable to photograph it for posterity. After a cursory perusal of our passports, we were allowed entry into Italy. Our cab driver did not speak any English, but was a great driver who enjoyed high rates of speed and the challenge of locating our obscure backstreet location of our apartment. ... and everyone here celebrates that part of nature here in Arkansas. They all even put signs on their vehicles saying "The Natural State" to show how much they like it here. It definitely puts me in a 'natural state' of mind. And, that's how I rolled in to Little Rock.

... Rock it was like culture shock. We went from being in vast farmland (we passed a lot rice fields and fish hatcheries and taxidermy places) to this really cool city. We rode on a nice bike trail and rode through sprinklers and rode through a huge park at a gorgeous time of day.
