Historical Traveler Reviews of Hampton Inn Cleveland-Downtown

Great Value!

from coreysmale
Purchased my room for $41.00 a night via Hotwire and stayed Jan 5-8. The hotel location was convenient and included all the amenties I could ask for. The staff was verey friendly and the room was cleaned daily. The wireless hi-speed internet was a plus too.

My only complaint is the lack of happenings in downtown Cleveland at night. Apparently the city picks up during the summer but if you're staying downtown in the winter, be prepared to get bored at times.

Best value in downtown Cleveland

Stayed at this wonderful clean downtown hotel during Labor Day Weekend escaping hurricane Frances which was ripping up east central Florida. Great location right on 9th street...walking distance to all downtown attractions, RTA train station, Browns stadium, Goodtime III cruises leaving from the 9th street pier. Excellent buffet breakfast with at least one hot item every day. Front desk very accomodating. Requested extra blankets for an evening concert at Blossom Music Center and they were placed in the room by housekeeping when we returned in the afternoon. My only complaint is valet parking. During busy times waits can be long (10-15 minutes) with only one person picking up and dropping off cars with awkward arrangement on busy 9th street (parking is across the street requiring a U-turn to get there and a left turn to get back...not easy during rush hour). High speed internet N/C a big plus with flight arrangements. Would stay here again for the next visit to Cleveland and would recommend to friends. It is the BEST value downtown.

Good Price for a Great Hotel

Found a great deal on hotwire. I was expecting a not so extravagant Hampton Inn. It's the second time I've stayed at a Hampton. First time I was impressed, this time amazed. For a hotel that is not classified at 4*, you have to wonder how much more it has needs to get that rating. Hotel was very clean, very new and the breakfast buffet was the best I've ever seen a hotel put on the table. If your staying in Cleveland you can't go wrong with the Hampton Downtown.

BEST STAY OF MY LIFE

from A TripAdvisor Member
The Hampton Inn of Downtown Cleveland is an excellent hotel. It is centrally located in the heart of the city, near the mall, convention center and across from a church. The view was spectacular, with skyscrapers and Lake Erie looking picturesque together in the same frame.

I arrived late, at 1am, and were greeted courteously by the valet, who doubled as a doorman. When we arrived our rooms were ready and we parked out car, conveniently across the street at $13 a day. I was amazed at the room, it was spacious, with am additional sofa, oversized bed and a colossal window of the city. The sofa doubled as a bed, supporting an additional 2 people, on top of the 3 people already supported by the bed. The bathroom was very large, with a tub, and triangular shaped sink. The breakfast was all inclusive with the room, complete with bagels, eggs, biscuits, cereal, doughnuts, fruit and yogurt. On the way out I wanted to sleep in, but check-out is at 12:00. I called the front desk and they let me stay till 3:00, with no problem, showing they care about their guests. They also offer a 100% refund policy if your not completely satisfied.

It is on the same level as the Sheraton City Centre, except that doesn't offer free breakfast or same level of service as the Hampton Inn. However the Marriot at Key Center occupies the largest building in Cleveland making it seem appealing.

I got the room via hotwire.com at $41.00 per night. I assumed a cheap hotel, but left with the best stay at any hotel. The room rates as follows:

Standard Rate: 120.00

Hotels.com : 123.00

AAA rate : 98.10

Hotwire : 41.00

A Beautiful Stay at the Hampton Inn Downtown-Cleveland

from A TripAdvisor Member
I have just returned from the beautiful city of Cleveland, Ohio. I had a wonderful, relaxing stay at the Hampton Inn downtown. I found accomodations at the hotel to be above average. Amenities were abundant, rooms were clean and relatively spacious. The decor was inviting, pleasing to the eye and refreshing to the soul. Most beautiful art hung over the beds, a peaceful setting of a walkway and cobblestone-like porch embraced by picturesque flowers and other shrubbery beckons the traveler to unwind. The beds were comfortable, and bathroom well supplied. The staff was most courteous and readily available. A continental breakfast adequately served to appease any hunger pains (smile). The location is excellent, as it is only steps away from eateries, the Galleria-a large mall with various shops, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Naval Reserve, and the Museum, all about three and a half city blocks down to the left, and about 4 or 5 city streets east of the renown Flats of Cleveland, a newly renovated warehouse district which now houses several entertainment establishments which include the Pavillon, The Scene, The Improv-all situated on the east bank of the Cuyahoga River... a beautiful sight by day, exciting nightlife! Cleveland-A Must-See City...try it, you'll like it! Stay at the Hampton Inn economically, and yet pleasantly...and you've just treated yourself like company!!!

Perfect staff, great hotel, excellent breakfast...

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at this Hampton Inn for 5 days in February with teennagers competing in national sports events at the nearby Convention Center. It was a perfect stay. The staff is available and helpfull at all time, the rooms are spacious, the beds are huge, the included breakfast( a must for athletes) is fresh and generous with specials like yogurts, newspaper daily, movie channel... what more do you want for $80! Our friends who stayed at the $$$$$ Sheraton had a rotten time and no breakfast! We would go back to that Hampton Inn anytime.

Great Staff

Excellent Value

Compared to the Hyatt Regency in Columbus I had just left, this Hampton Inn ROCKS! Lovely room, great staff, great location.

Nice, convenient location, beautiful city

from A TripAdvisor Member
Everything we experienced at this hotel was very nice. We had a wonderful view of the city out the window and we had no trouble getting to venues, restaurants, via cabs and also walking. Almost everything you would want is within walking distance. Cleveland is a beautiful city and the Hampton Inn was a very nice place to stay. We didn't have much interaction with the employees, but the interaction we did have was very good, especially the man at the door, he was very helpful with directions and always very courteous. We try to stay at the Hampton Inn now, every time we visit Cleveland which is about twice a year.

Very good lodging

from A TripAdvisor Member
Not a fancy hotel, but very clean and comfortable.

Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and lobby, and very good continental breakfast (free). Also morning papers free in lobby. Small gift shop off lobby. 14 floors, Elevator service is quick.

Centrally located downtown to all major attractions and stadiums, all within walking distance. (1/2 mile). Parking is in garage across the street ($13/night) Includes unlimited in and out. Vallet service available for added charge.

I would recommend the hotel for families. Seems like a very safe area at night with lots of foot traffic.
