... Lincoln Hotel for a roof top drink. A wonderful view of the city and Lake Michigan. Too cold to stay outside so retire inside. David arrives as scheduled and we move downstairs to Perennial Virant 1800 N Lincoln which was fabulous. A restaurant where staff are knowledgable and understand food . All local products with an emphasis on seasonal flavours and things preserved and pickled. David is a local and knows which is a treat! We are first timers so there are many ...

Richmond to Chicago

Getting up at 4:30 am was a bit rough, not to mention not getting breakfast until we reached Atlanta. While Richard was taking some Advil, a lady walking by thought he gave her the head nod (when he was swallowing the pills)! Hysterical, considering he was sitting with his wife and two sons. He said she looked very confused!

On Saturday, we started our return journey, heading west from Michigan, skirting around the bottom of Lake Michigan, into Chicago. We branched off the Interstate, hoping to see the lakeside, but apart from having lunch at a lakeside beach, we didn't see much of the lake.
