Day 2 Chicago 2015 Spring Break This morning we were all up at ready to eat breakfast by 8:30 am. Our continental breakfast was great. We really take advantage of this at our hotel. We stopped for hot chocolate on our way out. After breakfast, we headed out to Shedd Aquarium. We took a cab and basically fast-passed the line using our City Pass. We were in within 5 minutes. We explored the main floor with all kinds of fish exhibits. We caught the 11:15 am showing of Ice Age in ...

... through the crowds with the rest of us following behind. We snaked our way back to the apartment via numerous shops and malls before arriving as darkness descended over Chicago for another day - around 4.30pm. The curries were enjoyed along with the obligatory glass of ...

Millennium Park too, would be the start of our crazy test of patience in Chicago as all the crowds were out for what turned out to be one of the biggest weekends of travel. Plans change and people can affect your trip, the only thing to do is shrug and adapt.

Our original plan for the day had called for a trip to the Bean first, which probably would've resulted ...

... sandwhiches for dinner. One of our funniest evenings in Chicago was spent in that weird lounge! The morning after we watched the Wimbledon finals in the lobby area whilst Maighread tried to call her insurance and the hospital about her burn. Turns out that the only hospital in Chicago that will accept her insurance is in china town. We had planned to go there anyway, for dinner one day. But I am so glad that we went there during the day because it 1) did not impress us and 2) looked ...

... br> We walked back up Illinois St to the Magnificent Mile alias Michigan Avenue - actually that is the other way round. The Mag Mile is high end shopping and all the name brand shops are side by side. Wandered past these shops to John Hancock Building. The top floor observatory is a big tourist attraction however Maria had mentioned the rooftop bar so she asked the attendant about that and we were directed to another lift line and sure enough we are at the top and lining ...
