There are some seriously good barbeque restaurants in the Birmingham area! One of my favorites is called Dreamland Bar-B-Que. For a long time, the only food on the menu was barbeque ribs and white bread! Now you can order BBQ sandwiches, side dishes, and banana pudding there too.
We have now covered 258 miles together! That's 415.2 kilometers.
... now traveled 191 miles, with 974 miles to go. In kilometers, we've covered 307 km with 1568 to go. I have a feeling we'll be moving a little slower after the marathon this weekend, but I'll still try to log about 30 miles (48 km) each week when I recover.

This is a nice hotel but it's close to the bottom of my list of favorite overnights. It's not in a very good area and there isn't anything around the hotel. And they say "don't go wandering around" so I don't. I bring my own food with me in a lunch cooler so I don't need to go anywhere. We weren't there very long anyway, got in about 7:00 pm and left at 6:30 ...
The lady sitting next to me told me that basically we would see nothing but woods and trees between Washington DC and Meridian MS. She is right!
She had a high school sweetheart and they both got married, had families and got divorced. Forty years later, she heard he was single and she got his number, called him up and told him "you are going to marry me". They are getting married in six months.
