    ... not sure why these small towns exist. We are here because they have a motel - admittedly it is not in the town, if you can call it a town centre. However next to the motel there is a Yankee Candle - it is huge - a candle, Christmas, homeware store - they give you a map to find your way around. They even have a restaurant and that is where we had diner - it was great food - they had jazz musicians - and we even received a candle - what more could you want. Mileage: 165 ...

    ... a Mohawk with his arms lifted up in prayer to the Great Spirit. The statue stands on a boulder and is quite impressive! Another little piece of history is the Little Red School House, built in 1868. The one room school stands in its original spot. Unfortunately, we weren't able to go inside, although the brochure said it was open. Still, a nice piece of Americana. We then ventured into the little town of Shelburne Falls to see their uniquely different tourist attraction, ...

    Well off we set at 8:30 am to venture along the hwy to get closer to Cooperstown. The toll roads are enough to break you. One we hit in Maine was $7.50, another $4.00 and another at $ 3.50, yikes.
    We decided to take the #2 thru the top of Massachusetts which became a much more sensible drive to do. Very scenic along the way, but did not stop to take any pictures as Greg seems to be in groove. I must ...
