The hotel room was clean and comfortable and the free snacks in the evenings was great. Nice staff, too.

... lost, we spent a (memorable) few hours at the impressive (though crowded) SkyBar before making the hour-long drive back to Fort Benning where I spent the night on their incredibly comfortable couch. It was a fairly brief but memorable trip and I really enjoyed the chance to hang out with some of my closest friends who would be stationed at more distant posts (Fort Ric******* and Fort Bliss) over the next few ...
... a time when the U.S. armed forces were
still racially segregated, a training center was established outside Tuskegee
to prepare black soldiers to be pilots, a site that is now Tuskegee Airmen
National Historic Site. Although there is a gigantic parking lot at the Tuskegee

There were a little over 100 young folks there but not many that particularly cared about seminary. I did speak with a couple of folks and one in particular, Winston, who is certain about wanting to go to seminary after graduating from Auburn. I had a good time ...
I've been trying to reach Rev. Sheila Bates at Tuskegee's Wesley Foundations for months now to no avail. I didn't want to come all this way and not at least try to drop in on her though. The address to their location on their website led to an abandoned building. Needless to say, this attempt wasn't off to the best start.
I was trying to bypass the main campus chapel as I know the relationship between she and Rev. Gray isn't the best but, I had to go over ...
