    Family update

A travel blog entry by clara.sayre on Aug 11, 2014

My grandma passed away peacefully surrounded by her family yesterday early afternoon. Thank you to everyone for their well wishes and prayers.

Today is John and my 13th wedding anniversary. A bit bittersweet, but pretty wonderful to spend it with family. Our family bought us a gift card to a local restaurant for an anniversary dinner tonight. There is so much love here right now.

Will be on the road early again tomorrow another roughly 650 miles. No real good pictures today, will post some hopefully tomorrow. ...

... area near rush hour, but luckily we were later and traffic wasn't too bad. We drove through strong rain and wind several miles before Chicago (I don't know why the GPS takes us so close to the city...there is a bypass that looks much better...must take that route the next time!) We reached the Super 8 in Howe, Indiana around 10:45 PM. Just in time! In the room, while we were watching The Weather Channel we heard ...

... Quiet. Great amenities, too. I actually don't feel tired from driving. What a difference comfort makes. I almost didn't go with the rental! The traffic was not too bad. Plenty of trucks, a few stretches of single lane construction areas, and two passes through rain - once in PA and once in Ohio. We stopped three times along the way, ...
