      On the road home

Picked up the car at our friends, the Meadors. Hitting the road for Atlanta. Wow, it's been a whirlwind expedition! Feels like we've been gone for months. Can't believe how much we've seen and all the places that we've been in the last 26 days. I will certainly view so many of the places we've visited with a different set of eyes and opinions ...

Her Sister Monique was there visiting her from Canada as Lisa is trying and succeeding at getting her permanent residency. These two hoots really made me miss Kennedy. I want to start off this last blog by saying thank you to all of the wonderful family and friends that I have. Thank you so very much for supporting me in the trip and this journey in my life. There is no way I would have had the strength or the courage to go to Africa if it wasn't for each and every one of you. Your kind words and uplifting thoughts while I was there got me through some very rough times, and I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. All of you ...

So here it is, Friday, June 24, 2011. I'm about to embark on a long-awaited 2-month journey that will take me to Italy (Cortona, Siena, Lake Como, Milan), Greece (Mykonos, Santorini), France (Normandy, Paris, the Riviera), Spain (Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, La Rioja, Bilbao, Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba) and Portugal (Lisbon, Porto). While in Barcelona, I'll spend 3.5 weeks attending intensive Spanish language classes.

For the bulk of the trip ...

Last day of school and packing the RV

By the time the day before the trip had come, the RV was 95% packed and ready to go – thank God. I spent most of the day at school finishing up the year and did not get home until 6:00. Luckily, Pooja had done her part so we just had to put last second stuff in there. ...
