Heading west!
Well alright alright! So I'm in Memphis! So I've been on the road now for 3 days. The first day I picked up my car head headed north for the great smoky mountains! I picked a jeep patriot, aka patty, up from Atlanta airport and set off. I dropped into Walmart which is like a woolworths big w and bunnings all in one! I bought some food and drinks to take with me and a cheap sleeping bag with a blow up mattress. So the first leg I drove north through the smoky mountains. ...
Traveling south!
... need to see it to understand how big it really is. And if you think Aussies are mad about sport, think again! Yes we play lots of sport, but we don't even measure up to the fans over here. The final gig was last night, and again wasn't huge, but was good fun I think. This tour really was tough for the guys because they are so unknown over here and have minimal pulling power with the big venues, but they have pulled off some of the biggest gigs I've personally ever seen ...
The Antibellum Trail
... we lost the Antibellum Trail...we followed signs that just petered out to nothing, so we got directions and they fell through twice, so we gave up and drove off to Augusta to visit the Famous golf course which holds the US Masters every year.....Well it took ages to find and at one stage we were at the front gate of a Military base and got turned around by the Guard room, The GPS gave up and we were back to lousy maps with even lousier map ...

So this afternoon, Robin and Tim will drive me to Atlanta where I will check in to the Hilton at the airport. Wendy's flight gets in from Dallas at 12:30AM, then we plan to be back at the airport at 6:00AM. Flight leaves at 8:30, then we will have an 11 hour day in the air heading to Anchorage. We're so excited!
