... a broken engine serpentine belt. It's time to make a call to Good SAMs Roadside assistance. We were dead in the water. By this time of the day, which was around noon, it was about 103 so it was time to turn on the generator, put in a movie and get something to drink (non-alcoholic of course) because it was going to be a long day. After many phone calls with a tech the decision was made that parts weren't available to fix it on site and would have to be next ...

Well, we've completed the first leg of our journey, the long trip down I-5 to the California sunshine!

We caught the 4 pm Port Angeles ferry from Victoria on Jan. 2 (after paying a shocking $280 one-way fare for truck, trailer and reservation fee!) and, for the first-time-ever, we were detained at the border crossing while they searched our truck and trailer with a fine-tooth comb in the pouring ...

      The Usual Last Minute Chaos

Finally at 5a.m. I finished cleaning, part of the packing in the RV and general clean up I went to bed.

... were sitting a red light. We started to go and mine fell off right in the middle of the intersection. I went through, parked and walked back to get my cup holder and my drink. I made it to the other side and everything was still in tact. There was one more vehicle to go through and I could pick up everything. The guy saw it and swerved and demolished my cup holder right in front of me. I could only imagine my expression. I was able save ...

      Another trip to the Embassy

A travel blog entry by miss.chris on May 09, 2009

... found that we did need the declaration form so called Nate. He had just received the completed forms by e-mail so he forwarded them on to me. I left the embassy and found a Kinko's, parked in a parking structure and ran in. The manager was so helpful, she had me e-mail her the messages from Nate using my phone, and then she printed them up. Unfortunately the last form printed on 4 pages, in the center. The manager had the idea that I should cut the forms out, tape ...
