... tossed off an innertube at 30 mph, drinking and fishing. After some quality-time hanging out and catching up with the soon-to-be newlyweds (with a soon-to-be bedtime of 9pm) it was time to go. Next up - a visit with another buddy of mine on the west coast of Florida, who also just got engaged. They must have both been drinking that "special kool-aid"...
I've traveled a lot these last few years and there is a few things I've noticed about our nations airports:

2.Delays are longer
3.Parking has gotten cheaper and more convient

... is the Fort Pierce Inlet area. Surrounded by state parks, great surf beaches and family-friendly beaches, picnic areas, excellent fishing and boating opportunities, fantastic restaurants, both small and large hotels plus riverwalks along the parks and city center, this area offers something for everyone.
Fort Pierce, Florida, United States idmartel... of the sail flapping and the boom swinging from side to side, we dropped the mainsail and continued under the iron genny.
As evening approached, I pointed out the line of clouds that were spread across the horizon. They were beautiful - high, puffy, billowy clouds looking very much like yesterday's clouds - but I would rather have seen them somewhere else. We kept going. Night came and the temperature stayed warm and the winds were behind us ...
... nights to get there. Once on the road, Andy and I were happy and just kept on trucking. We decided to stay at the "Flying J" Truck Stop Plaza in Fort Pierce. I checked the trusty GPS and found a State Park nearby where we could gain access to the beach! On our way to the beach we went by a County Park called "Pepper Park". It looked uncomplicated, free and RV friendly. We pulled in, walked over the boardwalk to a fantastic beach!! All ...
Fort Pierce, Florida, United States jodieandandyYesterday we drove down to Palm Beach County and went to an all volunteer sea turtle rescue and rehab facility. It was a pretty small place and crowded with families with little kids all jumping around, but it was an interesting visit nonetheless. This group will accept sea turtles of all species that are found in the area stranded on beaches, by fishermen, scuba divers, etc. and try to fix their various illnesses and ...
Port Saint Lucie, Florida, United States ajvermont... we watched the Mets hot new pitcher, Johan Santana go 5 innings. He's their new quadruple gazillion dollar signee. This afternoon their last great quarduple gazillion dollar signee, Pedro Martinez, pitched his first spring season game. He's getting old but still has some stuff going for him. The hightlight of the game for me was spending 2 1/2 innings standing in line to buy a "taco in a helmet" from the slowest taco ...
Port Saint Lucie, Florida, United States ajvermont... since leaving Aus a week ago so i was feeling and smelling a little dodgy) My accommodation in LA consisted of a floor in Los Angeles Airport but that's another story. Over the last 3 days we have been working on the boat, painting the deck and putting in the bedding/ropes/sails etc. I am sleeping on the boat at the moment which is fine, we have had a bbq every night since i got here which consists of a metal drum but it does the job. My ...
Ft Lauderdale, United States moses... little to the west of Cocoa Beach. Stormy, rainy and cold during much of january and february, with march being real nice again, but by the end of april into may it starts getting too hot for anybody that has to actually work outside down here and can't go to the beach every day. The other thing it did to me living down here was the fresh oranges and grapefruit were so ...
Jensen Beach, Florida, United States greenvanartusa... I stayed there into the next post. One other thought. They changed the name of Cape Canaveral to Cape Kennedy to honor the former president . Then years later they changed it back. What's with that? I've seen things all over named after presidents but I have never seen them change it again anywhere else. Maybe they should hve installed one of those flashing roadside signs that you can change the letters on.
