Day 28 - Oklahoma! Four weeks on the road.
... to many freeway billboards. Carol says it is free if you can finish it. Yikes. I will not be attempting to earn a free 72 ounce steak.
Below are the statistics of our four week mark. It's fun driving west, especially when I look up and see the contrails of jets tracing their way along the same course.

Today was a long riding day, which I love but too much of it was on 4 lane highways. I much prefer 2 lane back roads.
Oklahoma has kept much of the old Route 66 but has expanded lots of it into four lane, especially through the towns' access roads. But more than half was great riding. I travelled through Tulsa but the Gilcrease Museum; with its history of Western culture was closed. I will have to remember that many public institutions are closed on Mondays. ...

Well that was a silly idea, I should have stayed in the township of shamrock, even if not one of the buildings there displayed a 4 leaf clover hahahaha. Well McLean has the famous devils rope museum, dedicated to barb wire, coincidently closed at this time of night, so onward I will press, bugs are getting worse can barely see now, at least ...

Crossing into the forth state I have been in today, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas. It's been a great day and the bike is finally dry even after the 4am torrential rains. Now I will find out what it is like to ride dry, the bike that is ...
