... in the parking lot accepting donors. So, with some initial reluctance, Kelsey and I signed up for an evening slot. Neither of us had given blood before, so we were a little nervous. But Kelsey wanted to give blood, ever since being inspired to do so through some episode of Extreme Home Makeover. And it's been something that I've wanted to do before I die. There's no good non-medical reason not to, right?

This [extended] weekend, we're staying in a wonderful little motel--family owned, specializing in extended stays. So we have a little kitchenette, and a separate bedroom. How refreshing it is to say "Hey I'll be in the other room"

We're in the quaint little Pennsylvania town of Mohnton, and we're staying here just in time for the annual Pumpkin parade!

But no worries, we just tidied up a few things, and were ready on time. It was actually a blessing, because that meant that we could leave that school a half-hour earlier than we thought and have a comfortable time buffer to travel an hour to our next school that day. Perfect.

We regretted having to leave that school in such a hurry ...

... Gap 50 miles. 3:30 Cross Delaware Water Gap into New Jersey. 4:00 Arrival at Comfort Inn on Rte. 46 in Fairfield. Total miles: 413. After taking a nap, I decided I was in the mood for a New Jersey diner for dinner so I drove down Rte. 46 a mile to the Versailles Diner where I feasted on a delicious stuffed salmon dinner. Feels great to be back in New Jersey.

... of the countryside. The leaves were slowly falling into the briskly moving creek. The ones that still were on the trees were the full spectrum of fall colors. A red covered bridge only added to the rural setting. With the appropriate chill in the air, the whole park created a feeling that one associates with the Mid-Atlantic/New England states during the fall.
