... part ... We tried to take back the gloves but Dawn from Baltimore Harley Davidson  did not have any replacement gloves in stock - so I had to keep the gloves and keep burning my finger.   Dawn lent me their phone and gave me the customer service number for H-D motorclothes and I left them a message.  Hopefully I will hear from them on Monday about how to go about getting a glove that doesn't burn my ...

South America Reading List

Before heading to a new location, I like to do a little background reading. Of course there's the obligatory guidebooks, but I try and read some other books set in the destination I'm heading to. This gets me excited about where I'm going and helps me get a feel for the location. Guidebooks Our ...

And We're Off

... We rolled into our hotel, Governor's Inn, around 4pm so it was a 4 hours drive...not too bad. The Governor's Inn was not anything special but it was located close to Colonial Williams burg and it was the cheapest lodging option for the Golden Horseshoe Golf and Stay package. I invited Marty to join us golfing either Saturday or Sunday, but the weekend green fees for the Golden Horseshoe ($149 Gold course/ $84 Green course) was a little steep for Marty.

Washington

... Yummy) and then we embarked on an illumination tour of Washington at night. The monuments are well lit. The statue memorial of Iwo Jima (spelling) was outstanding at sunset, and so much bigger than I expected. The next day, tour of Arlington Cemetery, so sad, so many graves, dating from the Civil War through to nowadays with the war in Iraq. The astronauts from Columbia are here ...

The Dating Life -- Back on the Scene Part 1

... up to your dreams... WHOA! Sorry, I got seriously sidetracked. What I mean is that life is like that sometimes. I mean, heck, I'll take a free date. It saves me the trouble of awkwardly asking some girl out, which usually happens with some stumbling words on my cell phone. "So I was thinking, and stuff, that if you feel like maybe catching a drink some time. Well, catching isn't the right word, is it? Hee hee!" Silent pause ensues, filled up with my heavy breathing ...

Like Last Year, But A Bit Worse

... it was still at a sortation center in Dulles. Immediately Johnathan phoned [he's clairvoyant and knew I was deliberating over this situation already] and he was shocked the package had not arrived. We both called FedEx and they said they would check on it. After a few hours of people not really wanting to help us and only checking their computer screens [as opposed to the actual warehouses], we reached a very helpful T. Bass at FedEx. Here it is ...

... fountain was absolutely beautiful when lit up at night, as were the White House, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Capitol Building, and the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials. We dressed up for a night of partying in Georgetown (best nightclubs in Washington) but ended up falling asleep in the bus after the tour, so went home instead!!! DAY TWO: Had a ...

... and reading to Courtney, picking on Caroline and watching football and movies with my dad. After four months of being away, I have been absorbed right back into the day-to-day family schedule, arguments, and life. And really, this is the best Christmas present of all. :o) I am finding it near impossible to find the words to make my last blog post, to effectively summarize and analyze the past four months. Where do I even begin? In what ways have I changed, matured? How do I even begin ...

First week in LA

... gal passed out in front of me Wednesday and one lad spent a few nights in hospital. But he was suffering from food poison. So week I done, they say that's the toughest. Hmmmm I have my doubts. When not doing yoga in the morning and evening the hours are filled with posture clinics. To date this means learning off the yoga dialogue by heart and standing up in front of all the class and Bikram with mircophone in hand and rattling off the text. And Bikram is not a ...

The end of this road

... She has been talking about doing this for months and it makes me smile when I see her doing things that make her happy. Today, I finally purchased that drum set that I have been talking about for years. Growing up in Florida, I've never had a basement before and it is a great place for band practice. Are you actively working on a dream? We wish all of you good fortune and the courage to choose your own adventure. Live it up, Smiles for miles, Laughter ever after, Love Dave & Jenn
