Yes, we are finally on our way -- after months of planning! We left Vermilion on Sunday, March 15th, and had a beautiful drive south on I-65 through Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama. ... huge biscuit on the side is nice and fluffy all the way through. The buttermilk pancake is soft and extremely flavorful. I couldn’t see the pecans in the pancake because they were so finely chopped, but you could definitely taste them. It was one of the best pancakes I’ve ever eaten.

... there was a girl who seemed high on drugs and said she had traveled on the Greyhound bus from Florida and had been dropped off in Birmingham. She had no ID and needed to know where the nearest Western Union was located. Andy and I did not know and she walked away complaining we were no help to her. We were tired from travel and went out to a local Vietnamese restaurant for a meal. A little bit of shopping then back to relax at the hotel. Quiet night.
... on Sunday. We laid around all morning before we made a last minute decision to leave a day early (Saturday) to spend the night in Savannah. We would make it to Savannah for a late dinner at The Olde Pink House, a Savannah icon, and then have time Sunday morning to walk around Savannah before heading over to Charleston for our walking tour. I've never visited Savannah, so I was very pleased with this plan!
