The room was very comfortable and a good size. However the internet connection was very poor. When we measured it it was just 0.2 - not much faster than dial up.
Also could not get the promised HBO channel on TV.
Only there for one night, so put up with it.
Breakfast was okay, nothing special but okay.

We have enjoyed our stay here and it has been real quiet except for the weekends, when all the locals take advantage of the scenery and weather. It is good to see people out and enjoying nature. We will be moving on tomorrow to Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, Va.
We have taken several hikes in the park ...
... round trip. It was nice to get out and hike as we hadn't done much in the last few weeks. I really needed it as the Amish Baked goods had done a number on me:))
We also drove several miles along the Skyline and enjoyed the beautiful views.
We have been on the road over 100 days and are really enjoying our trip. Hope to be home the first of October unless we see some place else we have to go.

Then, very suddenly, the skies just opened up and within less than two minutes the berm behind us was washing through our campsite. All of the camp sights were under water in no time!
I have never seen rain this hard this ...
I drove into Charlottesville today to pick up some things and let me tell you...the view along Skyline Drive was A-MAZ-ING!!! I really wish Mike was with me to see this!
When I got back we decided to do a float down the river behind our camp sight. So much fun!!
... with the ranger who was looking for an audience for his talk (OK, volunteer ranger, which is what we seemed to find most often – he was assigned to the park by the Geological Society of America (GSA) to help with interpretive programs). As he was nice, and Sam needed a couple of signatures, we listened to his presentation on the Shenandoah Salamander before heading to the festival.
It was a nice festival, I believe ...
