... kids were tired by the end of it. Although we saw a lot of scat on our hikes we could not spot any wild life. The scenery is so spectacular that we could not stop taking pictures, so there are a lot of pictures added to this entry.
Got back to our campsite and made maggie for dinner and played a game of apples to apples and called it a night.
The flight from Anchorage to Denver was uneventful, and we touched down early. Rachel's connecting flight to Washington and Buffalo was at the gate next door so we left Brendan to farewell her, and went and collected the baggage.
Outside, we jumped on a free shuttle going to the Fairfield Inn as it was one of the hotels that the RV place picks up from. I always feel a bit awkward about hitching a ride if we aren't actually staying there, but the shuttle driver ...
... and who doersn'f like snow capped tetons?) across Jackson lake were little short of breathtaking. The other thing that I particularly liked about the Grand Tetons NP was that those bloody annoying tourists didn't seem to know the place existed. There was no competing for spots for a view, no hassles for parks, and no gigantic RVs clogging the roads.
If there was anything to complain about it ...
... Shoshoni, was a modern day ghost town. There was a mushroom mill that shutdown in the late 90's so now every building on main street but two or three are deserted with broken windows. One of the shops that was open was a little ma and pa burger joint and here I tried my first set of Rocky Mountain Oysters. Not sure what I thought of ...
