Quite an uneventful day of driving up I75 with tons of truck traffic and not feeling quite up to speed (tiny touch of a cold). We made it to Tifton, GA and found a KOA. As we pulled into our campsite the skies opened with a deluge of rain, thunder and lightening. Bob and Meatball got out; Bob set up the RV and took Meatball for a much needed walk. Outside of the museum is a monument which marks the exact spot where Davis was captured. As the Union army advanced on Davis, there were two separate troops (one from Wisconsin and the other from Michigan) ...

After shaking off the Super 8 filth and a few more hours of driving our throats were dry and thus we decide to make a stop at the Historic Boone Tavern in Berea Kentucky. We were greeted by the hostess and expressed our need for a drink to which she replied "Sorry, this is a dry county." So naturally, we left and will not be heading back to Berea anytime soon. ...

... a motel and café, where we holed up for the next three days. The kids loved it; swimming and TV. Everyone was very friendly there and really helped us. So we were excited to come back and see Tifton. We stayed at the KOA in Tifton. They have a lot more gnats now than I remember. Also, the town has grown into a megalopolis. Ah, the wheels of progress.

Anyway, it was nice to see it ...
