It was a shorter day today with just over 100 miles to travel. We left Springfield IL and decided to have breakfast once we were on the road. We stopped at a little diner along the route. Pauline had a breakfast flatbread with scrambled egg and ham and I had the same but in a croissant along with coffee and a couple of do-nuts. All for under $10 …
Today we left Chicago at 10.30 am and headed down the i55 to ST Louis a total of 300 miles.
It was 97 degrees so the air con was cranked right up.
The scenery changed every 50miles from flat long straight roads to little hills with long corners and lots of trees.

... Gardens. Mark has certainly done a hell of a lot of K's this week, but here we are driving right to the gate of the venue, park just outside, walk in and plonk ourselves down four rows back and dead centre in front of the stage.
That would NEVER happen in Sydney even with Graham's parking mojo.

... St. Louis we named him Little Daryl or Little D. Our next stop was going to be camping in the middle of Oklahoma so we were more looking forward to that. Either way, St. Louis really ended up being a huge highlight of the trip and if Karen and Big D ever read this then please know that you guys are amazing people and we loved spending time with you. Thank you for everything. Now to Oklahoma (where the wind comes racing through the plain....or so I'm told)

This is a great place to stop over the service is top class. There are lots of places to eat around and about. We were given a room on a secure floor of the hotel. Good fitness facilities and indoor pool.
