We passed through Guatalupe National Park and the big mountain which is among the highest peaks in NM is named El Capitan We also passed through sand dunes and desert area. And of course, the Salt Flats Lake which was posted on FB. And then in the middle of nowhere we are forced to stop at a US Border Patrol checkpoint. Yeah, thats a good use of money, especially when you post signs a mile down the road announcing yourself. duh! Enjoy.
... Headed off to find our Campsite (Carlsbad KOA), signed in and set the tent up in record time so we could head back to the Caverns to see the bats come out to feed at dusk. They have build a nice auditorium at the mouth of the caverns to watch the bats come out. We had a 45 minute talk and then they exited!!!! Thousands upon thousands - actually between 250,000 and 400,000 swarming and off to feed. Quite something to behold - and certainly not to be forgotten. ...

The bathroom had a dark brow tile everywhere, even the ceiling, hadn't been cleaned, were full of bugs, had no stall doors and gang showers. did I say creepy?
