... br> Oklahoma City has known tragedy. On April 19, 1995, the city was the scene of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building by Timothy McVeigh, which killed 168 people and remains the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in US history. Half of the building collapsed seconds after a truck bomb was detonated and the remains of the building were imploded a month after the attack. The Oklahoma City National Memorial was ...

This bus is a 1948 Flxible Bus that was modified for the movie.

We arrived here after sunset so we got the chance to see the neon-lite, historic signage of the businesses and hotels that lined the downtown of Tucumcari. These remaining relics of the famous roadway that went through this town are still being used today to attract travelers of the historic highway.

Onward to Albuquerque.

Maybe I'll return someday and checkout the steakhouse my cab driver was telling me about (apparently that is THE thing to do in Amarillo, but I was too worried about getting enough sleep to venture out), but for now I just have these pics from my pseudo-adventure ...
