Day 29: Oklahoma to Texas
... a 9 foot rattlesnake in the road (I'm the one that has to restrain everyone in these situations, if it was up to Carol we would all chase the snake out of the bushes. Driving -- almost there
Nice drive on 287--good road; mostly farms and interesting little towns that all have a Sonic (of all things). Surprised to see lots of cotton growing. A nice roadside stand between Hedley and Leila Lake--delicious peaches and the longest watermelons we've ever seen--just picked this morning. Diesel fuel is ridiculously expensive in this area--$4.26/gallon.
