Said goodbye to Nashville. Rain, rain and more rain. After a 2 - 3 hour drive we arrived from Nashville into Birmingham, Alabama to our hotel. Very very wet weather. Our hotel was doggy central with many many little ...

Last minute decision to hit the road!

A travel blog entry by abarnes on Dec 27, 2014

We were set to leave early Sunday morning on a road trip to celebrate Andy's birthday in Charleston. We reserved the Andrew Pinckney Inn as well as Circa 1886 for Andy's birthday dinner. The only thing we hadn't settled on was a walking tour of Charleston. Wow..cold this morning. Electric furnace stopped working over nite. Have to figure out why. Turned on the gas furnace and it worked fine. First time hooking up the tow in the morning. Maybe we'll do it the night before next time! Heading for south of Birmingham. A little longer drive today. Stayed at a municipal RV park. Hoover. Parking lot with full hookups. New and clean. Took a walk, grilled our WI brats. Still chilly at night. Good ...

We have been preparing for our trip since we decided to go in March. This week we finalized all the accommodation reservations. I ordered a new purse: the thing came in yesterday and is astonishingly tiny! So cute! And it will leave my hands free to carry shopping bags.
Things at work are winding down after a frantic couple of months, so I am starting to actually think about where ...
