We had two days of bike riding here and spent three nights. I think it was our second day of riding that we saw gators. I had just sent David a text, saying we were hunting for gators, and I looked out on the lake and saw one swimming in. The park really cleared out today with only 3 campers on our loop. It was busy yesterday with locals and a number of Scout Troops. There are cabins here, showers and miles of ...
... there was mud... In several places we could see where the resident wild hogs had rooted up the soft ground in search of last fall's acorns. The surely did a fine job of opening Mother Earth! Felt like a new woman in the morning. Before we left, we drove around the Park a bit. Saw at 1700 year old oak. It's made it that long thanks to a lot of human intervention but still pretty amazing. Lots of bird watching to do too. Beautiful blue herons, hawkes, kites, black and turkey vultures. Plenty of industry out here too. Petrol and plastics from what we can tell.
