      ... Unfortunately we had forgotten that it was a public holiday so it was shut but we were still able to admire the outside! Shattered we headed back to the Hostel to rest... Before heading down to Fishermans Warf and Pier 39 to see the Sealions and have dinner at Fog Harbour (which was incredible and cheap)! Walking home we couldn't resist nipping into Musee Mecanique...       Got up about 9 and hit the road for a 4-5 hour drive down to San Diego and San Ysidro. Wasn't too eventful, both feeling pretty sick. Stopped off in some no name place for Carl's Jr for breakfast, then pushed on the rest of the way. The infrastructure of all these roads is amazing. So many in such good quality, and so long and starlight. Arizona was annoying, 50 odd miles and saw maybe 10 other cars, about two corners, and a 55 mile an hour speed limit. Ridiculous. ...

      ... there are detailed murals of the different industries in the city. I didn't pay to go up the tower, the views were good enough from the bottom.
      There are very steep stairways up Telegraph Hill, with houses all along the sides and some tiny laneways. Some of the houses look really fancy and have gorgeous gardens. They have incredible views, some have roof terraces, but no car access; I don't know how they move their furniture in! It was definitely good exercise going ...
