Its a Hampton Inn. Not a terribly, special one, no uniqueness to the building itself or special convenience to the location. Room was clean, furniture was dated but not in bad repair, TV was newer, bed was comfortable enough. Chairs in the breakfast area had just gotten a fresh coat of paint, I could tell because it was still wet when I went to breakfast the morning we left. We stayed here because it was the cheapest Hilton Family property reasonably close to where we needed to be the next morning. Would stay here again for those reasons but would look for a different Hilton property first.

I am up a bit after 6am local time. Check my email, play some games, quick edit or two on yesterdays journal. Today we head back to LA and tomorrow will be spent mostly getting to the airport and flying to Cincinnati and then driving home. Everyone is moving by 8am and be breakfast for the last time in Verde, the hotels' restaurant. In the room we …

... our bed time because of the time zone changes. We sought advice from an information desk in LAX airport and spoke to a lovely man who was about as useful as a chocolate teapot, and took a free shuttle bus to a bus station for onward connections into LA. Here, we were assured, there would be an information point and someone to ask about connections and buses. Such a thing did not exist. We tried to work out the buses from the posters available, but none went ...

... up. The couple we met were doing the same trip as us for the same amount time, it was really good to meet another couple doing the same as us, so we could swap notes as they were about to do the places we had just done, and we are doing the places they had done. It was really worth the hike, although the fun was not over. As we waited for a bus home the locals perceded to tell us we had missed the last bus home so we had a bit of ...

... up on Mira-lax and someone sharing a stock wedding photo last night for me to remember what was waiting for me back in Texas, my Wedding Dress. Now don't get me wrong, I'm having a blast exploring the cuisine of California, but 6 weeks on this high carbohydrate and alcohol trail is sure to lead to the upsize alteration of my dress.

... TV show Rizzoli and Isles was being taped and we drove past the set with all the camera and support staff getting things ready for the actors to start. We then visited the movie archives and were amazed at the large number of Films and Shows that are kept in controlled environment to prolong the life. We saw some of the wardrobe creations by the famous lady Edith Head and some of the props and costumes used over the years. We were taken into the ...
