    Gas across the Southern states is averaging $3.00 and I continue to average 8.5 MPG. Crossed numerous large rivers along the way today and through Talledega National Forest. Camped in Heflin, AL (halfway between Birmingham and Atlanta) for 2 nights.

    Checked the weather in Ft Myers -- high of 85, low of 65 for the next several days. Sounds good to me! Still on track to arrive Ft Myers on Nov 20, if not before.

    ... 8230;we turned the car west and headed for Georgia. We drove through Columbia, SC, Augusta and on toward Atlanta. The next few hours were unremarkable, with miles and miles of interstate, couched in tall green trees with few exits and a lot of, what appeared to be, sparsely populated areas.

    ... four or five times larger than the Asian otters. They were in two different displays. There was a room full of penguins, too.
    They had 4 beluga whales in one large tank. They look very personable. Juvenile beluga whales are a light grey color.
    We got to see some clown fish swimming in the anemones and we also saw a fish that looked like "Gil" from the movie "Nemo."
