A huge THANK YOU to Malcolm & Mary for chauffeuring us around the greater Portland area. We visited:

An hour or so after our Ogunquit walk, we pull off the highway to Portland, Maine. We don't really stay long, just head down to the harbour for a picnic lunch on the grass. Brendan has all kinds of picnic foods in the trailer; there is fruit, cookies, crackers, cheeses, meats, ...

Also a good sign was the massive cruise ship docked into the harbour. The boat towered over the small city skyline and the fact that it was even here is testament to the delights that the city has to offer........if temperatures were 30F in winter I could live here.

After the movie we bought a take out pizza on the way home and ate in the hotel room saving our energy to explore Boston tomorrow.

On the road again Wednesday morning and headed towards Maine. We arrived at a campground located right on Flaunder's Bay near Ellsworth, Maine on Wednesday afternoon and stayed 2 nights. Our campsites looked right out over the bay. The view was wonderful-even included watching a seal dive for fish. Was a spectacular spot to watch the sun rise and set. Yesterday we set out for a day of exploring. We headed towards Acadia National ...

... and walked the length to get to the wharf, we realized just how big the ship is!! Graham did well and we were soon in a bus doing our first tour. Colourful boats and seafood shops lined the shore of Casco Bay where we were moored. The town had a chequered start with Indian attacks, war and fire destroying most of the wooden houses in 1866. We drove along the Eastern Promenade with its spectacular ...
