Historical Traveler Reviews Hampton Inn Baltimore-Downtown-Convention Center

      Chic and shiny

      from

I booked this hotel based on it being "the only game in town" for a convention event. I expected a standard mid-grade hotel, and was very pleasantly surprised to find it more like a boutique hotel in New York or San Francisco. The decor is chic and modern, with blond wood, black-and-white photos, and splashes of color, as well as clever baseball-oriented touches like the "mitt" sofa in the lobby. The bed and bedding are comfortable enough to make you sigh, and the rooms, though not huge, are well equipped. Ours had a flat-panel TV, a huge glass-walled shower, and a clever breakfast tray/lap desk for the comfy bed.

Tiny down side? Parking is valet-only, and it can take up to 15 minutes to get your car. You're downtown, so park it and forget it, but expect to pay a downtown price ($26/day).

The free breakfast had a nice selection of breads and cereals, with a featured daily hot selection. A small supply of snacks and frozen meals can be found at the front desk. The staff was not just friendly but downright bubbly--they actually seemed to be loving their jobs! Combine this with the perfect location right across from Camden Yards, and you can't ask for anything more. Well played, Hampton Inn!

      Great Place To Stay

      from

My wife and I stayed there two nights because of business at Johns Hopkins. Bottom line......This hotel is great.

      The price is great.

      The location is great.

The price for the valet parking with in and out priviliges is great.

This hotel is new and clean.

The staff are very attentive and accomodating.

      The beds are great.

      The rooms are quiet.

The breakfast which is free is great. Face it, I eat alot. I can load up on that breakfast and can go all day until dinner. This saves us breakfast and lunch money. This also saves us time. We serve ourselves and do not have to wait for the formality of going to a place, seeing a menu, ordering, eating, and paying a check. I like to think of this as having breakfast at home without having to cook or clean up.

      Absolutely stay here.

      Gran lugar para estar

      from

      Exzellentes Hotel

      from

      Excelente hotel

      from

      Excellent hotel

      from

new hotel conveniently located at the metro and camden yards.

comp.breakfast -food was fresh, plentiful. room was very clean and spacious. definitely would recommend.

      New hotel great location!!!

      from

We also stayed there April 25-28 for Red Sox series. It is right next to Pickles Pub, which is great for pre game cocktails. I've stayed at the Brookshire Suites last year. It was alright. But the Hampton Inn Camden Yards is much newer and nicer. The hotel staff was nice especially the women who has to keep up with the breakfast rush. The breakfast selection is typical Hampton Inn.

Bagels, cereal, fruit, 2 hot items, good coffee, tea, this was enough for us. The BED was soooo comfortable. I will be staying here again. I paid $188.00 with AAA discount. Enjoy! you won't be disappointed.

Great location when attending a game at Camden Yards

      from

We spent two nights while attending a couple of baseball games. The location was great - just step out of the front door, cross the street and we were at the gate.

The hotel is an easy walk to all of the inner harbor sights.

The breakfast buffet was well stocked. The staff was friendly.

This was a typical Hampton, clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend for a family trip (half the price of some other harbor hotels) or just a quick trip to catch a game.

      from

      from

I could just hear the honking of the Amtrak horn intermittently, as we sped along past bays, over rivers, through wooded areas, alongside roads / industrial plots, towns and houses only meters away. Passing other cargo / trains which sometimes seemed far too close for comfort. When we arrived at Rocky Mountain, it seemed like the hours had sped by too, before we knew it, it was 8pm ...

Americans viewed this as a violation of their rights for they planned to stay neutral, or not side with either nation. The situation was made hotter by British impressment of American seaman. The place was huge - way too big for two people - with three bedrooms and a living room that was bigger than our place in Ellenborough St. They seemed to have settled in well and were getting out to lots of neighbouring cities on the weekends, even making it down South as far ...

I settled on a Days Inn and spent the night inside, watching the terrible Johnny Depp remake of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and eating Skittles and half of a disgusting peanut butter protein bar I had purchased somewhere in New Jersey. I had eaten so much greasy junk food during my road trip that I just couldn't bare to go back out into the ...

... Most of all I am happy that Ann Marie and Kimberly were able to feel empowered to help, and that they were able to see that there are plenty of other human beings who also care. Of course, that includes the rescue folks ... and our new friend Sue from Rhode Island ... but also the nameless contributors to this feeling of goodwill: the folks at the vet office, the pet store, the hiking ...
