The following morning we will have an 8-hour bus ride to Tamatave/Toamasina, where the Africa Mercy is docked.
I'm pretty nervous for the adventure that lies ahead; but I am confident it will be an unforgettable and life-altering experience. Well, the time to say goodbye is certainly in full swing. Colleagues, friends, family... Sometimes combined with other activities (concert, dinner), sometimes a dedicated moment. It's really great to see everyone who means a lot to you in such a short period of time. And since most of these 'events' are in small groups, I really have the opportunity to talk to everyone instead of just shaking a hand and saying goodbye.
... since the apartment is at only a few minutes walk from two train stations on a very practical line towards different areas of the city. And towards those stations many shops can be found, offering all kinds of goods and food.
As I said, the apartment would have to be a compromise. Having seen the other options, the more I think about it the more I get convinced that this was right choice. So, new home in the pocket, one step closer to the start.
