Jos and Fenny take me to nearby Assen to see the Drents Museum (gallery). The building is old, not surprising, and has been lifted to allow windows to be placed at the bottom. Surprising and amazing. Inside we wander through several exhibits including one of sculpture by german artist Laura Eckert, I found her use of wood and marble fascinating. The Glasgow ...

Familiar faces and another warm welcome that reminds me how fortunate I am to have such a family, both at home and here. I happily handover the suitcase for Jos to carry upstairs, I can manage it on and off trains and planes and over footpaths etc, but also happy to delegate on stair-occasions. In 'my room' upstairs I am greeted by a large photograph of Jos and Fenny's son Jasper holding a koala. During Jaspers year in Australia, he spent ...

... never mind)! Juggling, acrobatics, unicycles etc. kids enjoyed it immensely and Chloe even got up on stage and danced around like a butterfly with balloon wings on! The bike paths here are amazing, and so many people use them. They have them on both sides of the road so you only have one way traffic. Lots of E-bikes. Sunny and warm but not too hot for most of this visit.
