Halmpstone Manor Barnstaple

Well a bit behind with the blog due to no connection so here is a quick update.
We booked into Middlewick farm for a few days before going to Dad's and Mo's for a few days whilst "No Fixed Abode" was away being fitted with a tow bar.
The farm site was very quiet and relaxing, full of sweet smells of dung and pig poop!!!!
Truck dog Poppy thought it was great fun chasing the chickens!!

Left Totnes and Wayne & Julia on Friday to cross Dartmoor on our way to Lona's ancestrial home at Bideford in North Devon. Interesting trip, we found Haytor, probably the highest point on the moor. Typical local council, they put the carpark alongside the road and make your climb best part of a mile up on to the high point. Not fit enough for that caper but we made it. Well not a lot we can say here really. The site here is very quiet ************e here don't know why but they have reduced their prices to encourage people to come. It is very nice clean and tidy and the people are helpful. The countryside is beautiful around the are and the site runs along side the river.

We arrived at Witheridge to spend some time with dad a Mo and collect the truck dog poppy! She had spent the week with them as it might have been too much excitement for her in Dorset.

... in Kilchberg, nearby to Zurich Lake. The weather turned up a treat and we’ve enjoyed almost 1 week of temperatures over 30deg. , nice sunny days and some beautiful day trips out of Zurich, even reaching just over the German border to Konstanz & Meersberg (unfortunately no passport stamps to prove it!)

... year and is still in the early stages of recovery.

Unfortunately it has left him with some brain damage to the frontal lobe of his brain and he has memory, cognitive and reasoning problems. He also suffers from constant headaches, strange sensations in his head and the list goes on.

Well we could have sat back and let the world pass us by but we decided to take the bull ...

Amz and I went down to Dunster Castle in Dunster, which is a Medievil Village its awesome! We caught a disel train down and back, we tried to catch a proper steam train but we kept missing them by like 10 minutes! anyway still was very pretty trip down thru the country side and along the sea.
We then walked into town-a little bit of a mission- so to refresh ourselves we indulged in a cream tea which im sooooo in love ...

... t raining it was grey and dark and grey. And windy. Which was a problem for The Hat (mark II) since it's very top heavy and tends to blow off. And since Troll's got a new camera, she went all artyfarty on your ass. See? Grey.

It's weird being back here in Crediton getting back into the swing of work and the prospect of being on my own again.

Our last day of travel was pretty uneventful we just had a quick drive through Dartmoor. I showed mum Hay Tor, the Dartmoor ponies and we stopped for an icy pole.

... it and it was over the weight limit (my parents having assured me I'd be nowhere near the limit). Dang. Repacked after throwing out some stuff. Slightly under the weight limit now but still haven't put everything in it yet so will need to have another go later. 9 weeks is a long time and I need so much stuff - smart clothes for hospital, warm clothes for night, cool clothes ...
