Back to reality in the central library, it's interesting to see how people in Sheffield are coping with the technological revolution. Airports and aeroplanes
... to the challenge of eating soup with chop sticks on the plane. (Yes, it is possible!) I couldn't use chop sticks yesterday but with an empty belly and lack of choice i can be a fast learner! I'm gonna see if I can put my new found skills to work and ask a stewardess for some noodles. Day 9
... The menu includes classics such as drip toast (i.e. toast and dripping, with dripping usually consisting of beef fat), chips and gravy, pie and mushy peas, and treacle tart. Days 7 and 8
Waiting for the tram in Hillsborough, I see a parent with their child on a "leash". Or with reins, as they were called in my day. Very practical indeed, but they would doubtless cause an outcry in Sweden. Also chance upon a general store, and by general I mainly mean tat. Looking for outrageous bling to take back to Sweden but it's all far too tasteful. But do manage to pick up some Little Britain stickers for 20p.
