The parents visit

... very deep. 'Deep enough to jump from the top' I thought. I didn't want to scare my mum, although of course I did, but it just looked so appealing. In the end I couldn't find a place with a small enough curve that I felt I could safely enough jump from the top so I climbed down a little. My mum was happy about that. She also fell in love with a higher level waterfall which you could shower in. She felt like she was in a film (although I reckon she really meant 'I'm a celebrity...').

the adventures if trini tin tin!

... next day was interesting but mainly because my guide kept pointing out the obvious the whole time. "this road is very wavy" as we dip in and out of pavement seemingly inspired by laffy taffy. "do you see the water? that's the ocean" umm, yeah. i would imagine it would be seeing as we are surrounded by it. he was very sweet though and kept telling me to eat more oranges, which he then slammed to stop in the middle of the ...

Limes and Doubles

... else. In many places there are people selling "doubles" out of the backs of trucks...for example at the airport in Trinidad. A double is two pieces of fried dough filled with a concoction of curry and spices and pigeon peas, covered in green and hot sauces...and doubles are fantastic. A double double (two doubles) costs a little more than $1.00 and is a very filling breakfast!

Tobago Time

... they have a very strong tourist flow from Europe specifically Germany. They also have a strong partnership with Canada. Tobago flaunts its white sandy beaches and everything the Caribbean offers. They market the laid back lifestyle without loosing its culture. Tourism is very important to the island but its culture is the real lure of travels to Tobago. The two islands have an annual joined festival called ...

Sun, sand, beach bars and a bunch of turtles!

... lumbering creatures that are on average 6 ft long and that often weigh up to a tonne - as much as a small car! A small and generally quiet crowd of guests and local dogs watched the strenous process, which takes about 1-2 hours in total. The female turtle emerges from the water and climbs up the elevated beach, somehow ...
