    ... on the way back to stop in a place called Dazaifu. It is famous for a beautiful shrine as well as a popular sweet - a type of baked mochi filled with red bean paste. We stopped for some ice coffee and green tea and some mochi, then browsed through a few local souvenir shops. We rode the train back to Fukuoka, arriving back after 6 pm.     ... Michiko picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the workshop of Nuno Ehon Suginoko, the craft group who created the cloth Naomi's Tree book. We were treated like royalty- the ladies were all waiting for us along with a politician and his wife from their prefecture.     Today was in danger of being a bit of a letdown - in almost 4 weeks we have had a continually amazing time so perhaps it was our due! We got the train from Matsuyama, changing to the Shinkansen (bullet train) in Okayama, to Hakata station in Fukuoka. Confronted with some rather ugly high rise buildings (concrete jungle!), we then spent the afternoon walking to a market - turned out to be a fish market ...
