Today I got to see one of Japan's most interesting cultural activities, Sumo. ... staircases on the map; however Google Maps did not understand these as legitimate walking paths so I figured we would just stick to the road. As we followed the plotted course, a village seemed to follow the mountain as we ascended. It was quite steep and there were no steps, after all it was just a road.
