I traveled to Japan for a few days on what is a called a "VISA Run", a mandatory step in order to keep things good and legal, and what is deemed a right-of-passage for those teaching English in Korea. Now, I've had something of a romantic idea of Japan for quite some time, and how could I not? This is the homeland of Nintendo and giant robots and I love both of those things! Day 1 - Woke up early in order to get myself to Busan on time and not miss the boat. The voyage itself wasn't much to w...
Fukuoka, Japan fortuneandglory... at business hotels they want all the guests OUT between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.), and the staff put up a little screen between them and me. Behind the screen, they were talking loudly to each other, very different from how they acted while ...
Saga, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan rbfromnj... to try, but even after eating we knew it was fish but that was as far as it went!! One of the Japanese eating at the stall offered us some of his gyoza (little parcels of chicken) and we enjoyed it so much that we ordered some of our own - we weren't expecting about 10!!! Absolutely stuffed and it ended up being the most expensive meal in Japan, ironic as it was a street stall, but the ...

Fukuoka, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan cagonu... good. Im not a fan of Sushi, or most Japanese food for that matter. After that I walked around Canal City some more and was drawn in by a magician, who was set up by the small river. He was pretty good at his magic and I just had to buy some tricks from him (thought it would be a good way to pick up Japanese Girls), but that was not so true. After walking around for a while longer, I headed off to the Fukuoka Softbank ...
Fukuoka, Fukuoka, Japan travelingken20Japan is amazing......clean, beautiful and super friendly people compared what to I have experienced the past 5 months in S Korea. One big difference is the cost factor though. Japan is alot more expensive than S Korea, especially the train transportation. On the spur of the moment I decided to travel from the Miyajima/Hiroshima area to Osaka because I wanted to see Osaka Castle. I went to the train ...
Fukuoka, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan girliegurl77... was the speed at which it travels, in excess of 300kph. Unlike the TGV in France there is a small sensation of moving at speed but really this is because the track doesn`t always go in straight lines like the TGV in France. Still a very smooth ride by all accounts, the journey to Fukuoka took just over six hours with one quick change of trains. The distance was probably close to 2000km ad to cover that kind of distance in that time is just amazing. Once in Fukoaka the ...
Fukuoka, Japan polomuiriu... looking shops, like a French or even a German bakery, but where the baked goods are made to the taste of Japanese. I was a bit curious what that would taste like, so in the evening we sat down for a treat, and sat down for a chocolate cake and a coffee. The coffee was not quite as strong as in Europe, but delicious. The chocolate was much less sweet than the over sweet cakes in Germany, but the chocolate ...
