    ... It was the perfect warming comforting dinner after a long day. The broth was rich without being fatty and the addition of the fresh garlic was delicious. We were also pleased to have finally mastered eating an egg with chopsticks!! It was so yummy we ended up ordering a refill noodles between us! Another day mostly travelling over we retired to bed looking forward to our trip to Miyajima Island ...

    The displays were very interesting with English translations, which was great. It is hard to be involved if no translation is available. Many of the rooms had the various samurai suits of armour, which I always enjoy looking at but, unfortunately, there was also a request not to take photographs of many of them.

    ... up the street, but was unable to tell us what it was called (very little English, just very kind). It looked like a hard waffle-like biscuit, wrapped in seaweed and it too was very tasty. He was delighted we enjoyed it and went on his way.

    We had a look around the Shrine and surrounds, and had hoped to explore the Kyushu National Museum but, unfortunately, it was closed.
