... along the beach is the Temple to the Goddess of the Sea. It was a miserable day and rained all if the journey to the coast, and then came on to rain while we were there. However it was an amazing place to go and see. We paid 2200RMB, which was about £110 each, but it was somewhere neither of us would have gone on our own, and certainly not a place which is usually on the tourist list of attractions in China. The drive back to Tianjin wax a bit quicker and ...

On saturday morning we took the D-train out to the coast to see where the Great Wall ends, or begins. On the sunday we got on a chartered bus to visit a less touristy place at Dongjiakou. Now I'm waiting for the rest of my trip to ...

... great for stress relief. Sarah insisted that I have a go but my reply was I would drown them all out which made her chuckle. After that we drove to the First Fortress Under Heaven and wandered around for about 1 hour and then went to look at Great Wall Museum. Again more wall history which Mike has found fascinating. Sarah and I managed to make a spectacle of ourselves at the museum. There was only one chair which I was sitting on and ...

... quiet with no normal clatter of train tracks. Must admit I did not take in much of the scenery as busy trying to capture some of the things we have done here! Arriving at qinhuangdao was a shock. I was expecting a tiny coastal town. Duh! This is china you dork, with a population of how many! Anyway my tiny coastal town has a population of 3 million so is roughly 3 times the size of Auckland although crammed ...
