Today was Zijing and Michael's big day and it was a beautiful day indeed. It started with a lovely breakfast at the Dockside boutique hotel in Wuzhen, the five star hotel where most of the wedding guests are staying, and then Kjersti and I went to the Riverside hotel nearby to relax a bit by their swimming pool before the wedding. The wedding was in the afternoon, and it was a beautiful ceremony in the backyard of the Riverside hotel. Everything was beautiful about it: the ...

Today we went by bus from Shanghai to Wuzhen, a small town where Zijing and Michael's wedding will take place. The room we got is huge and really comfortable, but unfortunately it offers absolutely no privacy as there are glass doors to the ...

what I would have done without her. She ...

I enjoyed it :-) Then we opened our presents after dinner, which was really nice. We all received a pair of gloves! Serena is only usually allowed to watch 'TV' (Ipad/laptop/DVD) on the weekends, but as it was Christmas, she was allowed to watch something. I had downloaded Home Alone 2, so ...

... Host families were invited, but only mine and the ones from Hangzhou came along. There was a speech from the boss of Lopair, then a speech from the Lopair host, and then each family had to give a speech "sharing their cultural experience of having a foreigner in their house". During these speeches, the au pairs were told we could chat amongst ourselves. We all ended up moving over to the play area where the kids were and half whispering to each other, half playing ...
