... br style="line-height: 15.8599996566772px;">- The West, foreigners, Europeans, the world --- it's all one and the same. There's Chinese food and Western food. No such thing as Spanish, French, German, Italian, British. Just The West. A lot of Chinese people (perhaps even most) I have met, my host family included, seems to work with these 2D generalisations that I just can't. I was buying fruit the other week with Serena, and didn't have enough money on me for it all. ...

It was all very nice, but just grey and cold, and lots of cold, grey walls, bricks, cement. We left Yangzhou at 4.30pm and said goodbye to Ms Liang's Beijing friends. Cesca said "this looks like a nightmare I've had!" LOL x 50 :D ...

... on Shanghai, on the east side of the river. It was again a lovely sunny day, and I took to that area and will definitely go there again. We walked around there and went for lunch at Din Tai Fung. It was super clean in there, as were the toilets. Nice food too.

After lunch Sandra and her host family went on with their plans and I went to meet Angus ...

... It was a short drive away, and in the flat was a lady, a few men and a couple of teenage boys. I later learned that the lady (she was incredibly warm, smiley and LOUD), is Mr Yao's brother's wife. So Serena's aunty. Anyhow we were in that flat for about 2 hours, watching the strangest film I've ever seen (it was about some transgendered hit man who falls in love with this pathetic girl) and then the start of Rio 2. The men left, and sometime later the aunty got a phone call and ...
