... wore these weird floral headbands. We were the only people in the whole town not wearing them, but don't worry we looked gorge anyway #socksandsandals We found a hotel lobby, ate our lychee and slept for a couple hours until we could get back on the coach (bumpiest journey ever #turrrrbulanzzz). An interesting day trip showing us just how much we LOVE shanghai!!! (And also how much i want a good camera with a long lens to take more beautiful photos ...

Day Excursion to the Watery Wuzhen East Scenic Zone ( 乌镇东栅景 ;区 )

Day three and we are all still well and enjoying our Chinese adventure. After our hearty breakfast, again with a different range of food (with a challenge or two with the noodles, refer to photos) we were off for a 2 hour drive along the freeway to the Water Town.

We woke up to a wet Shanghai morning, rain soft and steady. We started our day with a congee breakfast at a local eatery. My favourite so far is preserved egg congee. Shae likes fish congee.

After breaky we went to East Nanging Railway Station and boarded a train on the Green / #2 train line for Hongqaio Railway Station (Shanghai’s main train station). Wow, what a massive station this is ... people, lines, more people ...

... more attractions, took a boat ride along the xishi river, and then had 3 hours free time, upon which we went exploring and shopping. We joined a couple from our tour group for a beer on the rivers bank before dinner at 1830. The same sort of food was served yet again and therefore we stopped at the shop on way back to hotel for some snacks.
