... way up; step wise it was halfway. We really wanted to experience the joy of hiking 3330 stairs so we got started as soon as we got off the bus. And I immediately remembered why I purposefully avoid the stair master at the gym. Stairs suck. And 3000 stairs suck a lot. The nice thing was that they had little rest areas all along the way where you can buy water and food. So at least we remained hydrated. And we were really lucky in the ...

This was a little day trip I took to Jintai Temple.

The highest peak of the Huangyang Mountain stands within the confines of the Doumen County in the Zhuhai City. It is as high as 583 meters and has been known as "the first peak along the gateway to the Pearl River". The Yexi highways along the coast pass by at the foot of the mountain. Looking northward through the bus window, you will see a ...

... maybe it was a sign) because the whole night, I couldn't even string more than 3 wins in a row, much less 10. I did get into a nerve racking situation though when I thought to myself that I had 2 weeks worth of rent on my favorite island bet on the table and was dealt an 11 against the dealers 8. Of course, I had to double down to a month's rent, but I drew a 3. It really hurts to lose $1600 in one hand when you only started out with $2000. I managed to double up within ...

    Macau

Took a day trip to Macau, a small island about one hour west of Hong Kong by high-speed ferry. It quickly has become a gambling mecca for those from mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Several US casinos have built there, including Venetian, MGM Grand and Wynn. I expected more from Macau. Frankly, the areas where the locals live, away from the casinos, are quite rundown and dirty. There is a nice little shopping area with old Portuguese buildings (the ...
