Walked uphill and then when I got to the top somehow I had to go up again...and again. I have now discovered that the next four days walking are all up. Splendid! But enjoyed a sandwich my hotel landlady had made for me. Quite a straightforward walk, past some genuine pilgrim graffiti- you could tell this as entirely missing the usual sexual ...

... to our place Hostal Brasas in about 10 minutes. We wanted to get there early to run errands, as we needed to get to the post office to pick up our stuff we sent ahead in Santander, and send it a bit further to Santiago.

Being that we got there early, I think it was before 8 am, our hostess had told us just to call her when we got there and she would open up and get us checked in. This sweet old lady in her bathrobe ...
