Saturday was carnival day in Oviedo. Here they celebrate carnaval a week later than everywhere else so that people can go to the carnivals in Avilés and Gijón the weekend before. ... in horror when I admit this and, to be honest, I too don't know how I've got to the age of 22 and still haven't seen it. In a choir rehearsal at univeristy last year we were asked out of the blue by the MD to sing 'Do-Re-Mi' as "everybody knows it", apparently. I got to 're' then just had to sit there while everyone else sang away with a smile on their face. So now I can finally say I've seen The Sound of Music, well the Spanish version!
